Beauvechain Air Base is one of the main military air bases in Belgium, with a long operational history and a current function mainly related to the training of Belgian Air Force pilots. The 2004 European Trainers Meet was a memorable and technically varied event, designed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Alpha Jet in the Belgian Air Force, featuring trainer aircraft from all over Europe and truly spectacular moments, such as the display of the Spanish SF-5Bs and special commemorative liveries.
Northrop F-5B Spain - Air Force
The star of the event were the two Northrop SF-5Bs (training version of the F-5) from the Talavera Air Base, the Royal Home of the Wing 23 of Spain, recently updated with mid-life modernizations, a presence that thrilled the many photographers who flocked from all over Europe
Dassault Mirage F.1B French Air Force
Numerous aircraft were present, 10 participating countries with an incredible amount of aircraft. Hosts present with A109HA/HO, Alpha Jet E/E+, CM170R, F-16BM, SA318C, SF260D and the Czech Republic with the An-26 and L-159. The Belgian Air Force's Alpha Jet AT-18 aircraft sported a special livery to celebrate the anniversary; it had the insignia of the "wolf" (1st Wing) and the "bat" (11th Squadron) on its tail Denmark with the T-17 from the Karup base, France with the Alpha Jet E, Mirage F-1B, TB-30. The Mirage F-1B is beautiful in a special colors version to commemorate the 60th anniversary of D-Day.
Socata TB-30 Epsilon France - Air Force
Germany with an F-4F from the Nörvenich air base (Germany), which hosted the Jagdgeschwader 73 "Steinhoff", Ireland with its PC-9, Italy with the MB 339°/CD from the Galatina air base, home of the 61st Flight Group, Ireland with the Irish PC-9 of the Irish Air Corps recently in line flight. Present Air Forces of the Netherlands with the PC-7 and the United Kingdom with the Hawk Tucano T1.
