After the great success of the public, Bratislava, the capital of the Slovak Republic, presents a new Air Show at the airport of the capital. This is an opportunity to celebrate the entry of the nation into the European Community. this important historical moment allowed the organizers to increase the presence of aircraft including aircraft from Germany, Italy, Portugal, France and Great Britain. The United States also wanted to celebrate the event by bringing in static 2 A-10A Thunderbolt II from the German base of Spangdahlem. The proximity to countries such as Hungary and Ukraine has allowed the many enthusiasts to see airplanes from the two historic blocks (East-West).

The very beautiful static exhibit was enriched by the presence of a Sukhoi Su-27A and an Ilyushin Il-76 belonging to Ukraine AF, by a Soko G-4 Super Galeb and by a Let L 410T by Latvia AF. The open event with the overflying of all the aircraft belonging to the Slovak Air Force saw the performance of the 4 acrobatic patrols present at the show in addition to the performance of many jets. Very interesting the spectacle offered by the two Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29A of 1 .SLK that have given life to a real air combat with great maneuvers and with the use at various times of the Flare.

Saab JAS 39A Gripen is present in flight. The plane should take its place in the far too distant future of the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 thus aligning the Slovak Republic with the qualitative standard of the other European nations. The “Flying Circus” was a spectacle of other times, a demonstration of aerial combat as it was carried out during the First World War. A great event was the one seen in Bratislava, an event that all the fans hoped to see again in 2006.
