The Breitling Air Show was held from September 15 to 17 at Sion Air Base. The runway, a civil and military airport located in Sion, Switzerland is located about 2.5 km southwest of the city center in the Rhône Valley. The airport was opened in 1935. It is one of its four jet fighter air bases, the other Payerne, Meiringen and Emmen aircraft are used intensively by the F/A-18 and F-5 Tiger fighter aircraft. The base is used throughout the year by the Pilatus PC-6, Pilatus PC-7, Pilatus PC-9 and Pilatus PC-21 propeller aircraft. The base is equipped on both sides of the runway with retractable stop devices essential in case of problems during landing on the F/A 18 and F5. Since 2017, the base has only been used by civil aviation, serving only as an alternative airport for the Air Force.

The flight program has been nourished; almost all the fighters of the major European Air Forces were present. The F16 AM of the 10th Tactical Wing (10 W TAC) of the Belgian Air Force in Special Colors version is in flight. In flight EF2000 of TLG74 from Neuburg Air Base (ETSN) and the Grippen JAS39C from Kecskemét Air Base (LHKE) in Hungary. The exhibition of the Rafale C in the Special Colors version located at the Saint Dizier/Robinson Air Base (LFSI) was extraordinary, followed by the host the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C Hornet. Numerous historic aircraft belonged to the Swiss Air Force, from the Mirage IIIDS to the Vampire in the T55 and FB6 versions to the Hunter in the two T68 and F58 versions. The exhibition of modern and historic aircraft and helicopters was framed by the aerobatic teams of the Breitling Jet Team (Aero L-39 Albatros), the Patrouille Suisse (Northrop F-5 Tiger II), the Frecce Tricolori (Aermacchi MB-339), the Breitling Wing Walkers (Boeing Stearman), the Pioneer Team (Pioneer 330 ACRO), the Giordana Royal Jordanian Falcons aerobatic team (Extra 330 SC), the PC-7 Team patrol (Pilatus PC)-7) and other minor patrols such as the Yellow Piper Team (Piper L-4), the Blanix Team (Blanik L-13) and the P3 Flyers (Pilatus P-3).
