Over 6000 people flocked to the “Francesco Baracca” airport of Villa San Martino on the occasion of the “Memorial Day” named after Francesco Baracca to celebrate 90 years of death and 120 years of birth. An event full of events, with paratroopers launches, and acrobatic performances. In addition to the performance of the various aircraft, the delivery of the prize in memory of Andrea Golfera who died in 2007 in a firefighting operation, a prize awarded to the crew of the 15th Stormo who on October 12 saved 16 shipwrecked off the coast of Castellamare in the Province of Trapani .

In the afternoon the air show; one of the Army’s Air Force A129 Mangusta opened the performances followed by the performance of some civil acrobatic patrols. Present in the skies of Lugo are the “Blue Voltige” on two Fournier RF5B, the “Broken Barons” and the “Pioneer 300”. Civil soloists included the performance of a Beechcraft King Air of a Cessna 337 and a Cap 10.

Breaking the silence, the arrival on display line of the Aermacchi MB 339CD of the Pratica di Mare Experimental Flight Department followed by the Panavia A-200 Tornado and the spectacular display of the new Eurofighter F-2000 Typhoon aircraft piloted by Major Alessandro Scaburi.
To pay homage to the great Francesco Baracca, the passage of four General Dynamics F-16 ADF “Flighting Falcon” of the 23rd Flight Wing of Cervia. The performance of the 23rd Wing aircraft on the occasion in the livery commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Caccia Group put an end to the splendid event.
