THUNDER OVER MISCHIGAN
WILLOW RUN AIRPORT
STATI UNITI
20Th August 2016
The Thunder Over Michigan Air Show organized in collaboration with the Yankee Museum presents this year to all the fans with a great program made even more appealing for the presence of the acrobatic team of Breitling Jet Team engaged in a 2-year advertising tour around all the United States. Venue of the event Willow Run airport. The airport located near Ypsilanti due to its proximity to the Detroit Metropolitan is used only for loading and unloading goods and does not carry any passenger service. In addition to the traditional Air Show, the event presents the reconstruction of a battle of the Second World War, all with the use of the means of the time and appearing in the historical uniforms used in the tragic conflict. The theme chosen this year by the organization “Helotown USA” a celebration dedicated to the various helicopters that have served at the American air forces. The powerful Mil-Mi 24 Soviet, who did not participate in the event, was also announced by the organization.

Another plane that marked an era but on the other side of the sides the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17PF Fresco D. An incredible performance that of the former Soviet Union aircraft. Great proof of maneuverability combined with fast and ground passages. After the departure of the Jet, the long-awaited exhibition of the Acrobatic team of the Breitling Jet Team. An intense show that of the world’s largest acrobatic jet patrol. The demonstration continues with the show of two Bell AH-1F Cobras engaged in an air war simulation. Too bad for the absence of Mil-MI 24 Hind. The mighty Russian helicopter would surely have more emphasis on the demonstration. Surely the best moment is the passage in formation of the Lockheed Martin-Boeing F-22A and the North American P-51 Mustang, past and present of two aircraft that have and will make the history of world aviation. Overall a nice event, shame about the static, as usual in the more classic American style “aircraft without protection for the happiness of all non-photographers” … but that’s okay.
