35 years have passed since the last edition of the Tiger Meet in Italy. The year was 1988 when the 28th edition was organized at the Cameri base in the province of Novara. After 35 years, Italy returns to host the exercise at the White Tigers flight group of Gioia del Colle. For two weeks the Apulian air base will become the site of one of the most important exercises at European level. Committed to guaranteeing the defense of our airspace, the 4th Wing of Grosseto, the 51st Wing of Istrana, the 37th Wing of Trapani, the 32nd Wing of Amendola and the 36th Wing of Gioia del Colle. The air support saw the commitment of the 6th Wing of Ghedi.
The Winner of the Silver Tiger the TakLwG 74
Committed to guaranteeing the defense of our airspace are the 4th Wing of Grosseto, the 51st Wing of Istrana, the 37th Wing of Trapani, the 32nd Wing of Amendola and the 36th Wing of Gioia del Colle. The air support saw the support of the 6th Wing of Ghedi. The helicopters of the 9th Wing of Grazzanise were used to support Special Operations and SAR operations with the AugustaWestland HH 101A “Caesar” and the Bell HH 212 in flight.
The 800 sorties and 1200 flight hours confirm the perfect success of an exercise that ranks among the most important at European level. A moment of comparison and growth between the various European powers aimed at developing the operations of the 19 flight departments. The winner of the Silver Tiger was the TaktLwG 74 from Neuburg Base equipped with EF-2000 Eurofighters and members of the Tiger Association since 2012.
